How to Install and Use Metamask on Google Chrome?

Step 1: Go to Chrome Web Store Extensions Section.

Step 2: Search MetaMask.

Step 3: Check the number of downloads to make sure that the legitimate MetaMask is being installed, as hackers might try to make clones of it.

Step 4: Click the Add to Chrome button.

Step 5: Once installation is complete this page will be displayed. Click on the Get Started button.

Step 6: This is the first time creating a wallet, so click the Create a Wallet button. If there is already a wallet then import the already created using the Import Wallet button.

Step 7: Click I Agree button to allow data to be collected to help improve MetaMask or else click the No Thanks button. The wallet can still be created even if the user will click on the No Thanks button.

Step 8: Create a password for your wallet. This password is to be entered every time the browser is launched and wants to use MetaMask. A new password needs to be created if chrome is uninstalled or if there is a switching of browsers. In that case, go through the Import Wallet button. This is because MetaMask stores the keys in the browser. Agree to Terms of Use.

Step 9: Click on the dark area which says Click here to reveal secret words to get your secret phrase.

Step 10: This is the most important step. Back up your secret phrase properly. Do not store your secret phrase on your computer. Please read everything on this screen until you understand it completely before proceeding. The secret phrase is the only way to access your wallet if you forget your password. Once done click the Next button.

Step 11: Click the buttons respective to the order of the words in your seed phrase. In other words, type the seed phrase using the button on the screen. If done correctly the Confirm button should turn blue.

Step 12: Click the Confirm button. Please follow the tips mentioned.

Step 13: One can see the balance and copy the address of the account by clicking on the Account 1 area.

Step 14: One can access MetaMask in the browser by clicking the Foxface icon on the top right. If the Foxface icon is not visible, then click on the puzzle piece icon right next to it.

Also, after setting all of these, please follow these steps, in order to maximise the security of your Metamask:
Settings → Advanced → set Auto-Lock Timer to < 5 minutes.
Settings → Advanced → turn off any experimental features.
Settings → Advanced → select preferred ledger connection type if using a hardware wallet.

How to Install and Use Metamask on IOS and Android?

You can download the MetaMask app on Android or iPhone. We’ll be using an iPhone as the example here. If you’re using an Android phone, the steps to download and install are very similar. Once installed, MetaMask works the same regardless of the phone you have.

To begin, head to the iPhone App Store or Google Play Store, search for MetaMask, and install it.

Once downloaded, go ahead and open the MetaMask app from your home screen. With the app open, press “Get started.”

After pressing “Get started”, you will tap “Create a Wallet”. If you already have a wallet select the “Import wallet” option.

If you installed MetaMask on your browser, you can select this option to integrate your existing wallet into your smartphone app.

The next page will ask whether you want to agree to MetaMask’s user agreement. Either option can be selected to proceed.

Now you will create a password for your wallet. Make sure you agree to the Terms of Use. If you use a FaceID you can also enable this option. It is enabled as the default setting.

Before proceeding, watch the video to learn more about the importance of your Secret Recovery Phrase.

Now you will be granted access to your Secret Recovery Phrase. Your Secret Recovery Phrase is the most important piece of information.

Warning: Do not lose or forget your Secret Recovery Phrase. If you forget your password your Secret Recovery Phrase is the only way to access your wallet. If someone else knows your Secret Recovery Phrase, they can access your wallet.

Write your Secret Recovery Phrase down on a piece of paper. Do not store them on your computer. Make sure you always know where your Secret Recovery Phrase is saved.

Click on the box that says “View”. Write down your Secret Recovery Phrase.

After writing down your Secret Recovery Phrase, tap the words in the order they appeared and press “Continue”

And there you go. You have now created a MetaMask wallet. You can view your account balance, buy and send Ethereum, and view recent activity.

Now that you have a MetaMask wallet you can interact with all kinds of dApps, buy NFT’s, or send and receive Ethereum.

!! After that, activate the biometric authentication, following the next steps

Sync with the desktop browser extension.
Go to security settings in-app and ensure Fingerprint/ Face unlock is not disabled and choose “After 30 seconds”

Close MetaMask app.
Open the MetaMask app.
→ Notice that you are prompted for a fingerprint/face recognition to unlock the app!

Also, in Security and Privacy, make sure that Secret Recovery Phrase is backed up, like this:

Connect MetaMask to Polygon Network

Step 1: Install MetaMask Wallet

If you haven’t already, then you will need to install the MetaMask (MetaMask) wallet extension on your web browser. You can download the wallet here or download the app from App Store/Google Play.

Once you have downloaded and installed the extension, you can easily set it up by accessing your extensions.

To access your extensions on Chrome, simply type in chrome://extensions/.

Alternatively, you can even access them by heading over to the “Settings” tab.

Step 2: Add Polygon Network to Your MetaMask

Once you’ve set up your MetaMask wallet, you simply need to add the Polygon network to your wallet so you can access it.

To do that, we will open the side panel of our MetaMask wallet and click the “Expand view” option under the three dots on the top-right.

Your wallet will open up on a new browser tab like this.

Simply head over to the network dropdown next to the circular logo and select “Add Network”.

You will be redirected to a new screen where you will be able to add a custom network.

You can also access this screen by heading over to the circular logo, accessing “Settings” and then heading over to “Networks” in the left pane.

Now fill out the details.

Enter in the Matic Mainnet settings as follows:
Network Name: Polygon
New RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com or
https://rpc-mainnet.matic.network or
https://rpc-mainnet.maticvigil.com or
https://rpc-mainnet.matic.quiknode.pro
ChainID: 137
Symbol: MATIC
Block Explorer URL: https://polygonscan.com/

Once you’ve added all the requested information, you can go ahead and click “Save” and the network will be added to your wallet.

You will be redirected to this screen once the Matic network has been added.

How to connect your wallet via WalletConnect

Desktop

STEP 1:

You must have the MetaMask extension installed in your browser.

Go to genius-assets.com ;
Login in to your account
After you are in the dashboard
Click on ‘Connect Wallet’ and select the first option — ‘QR Code’;

Open your MetaMask on your phone.

In the right corner of MetaMask, click on the scan;

Scan your QR Code.

STEP 2:

Confirm connection to genius-assets.com in MetaMask.

STEP 3:

Now you can operate with Genius Assets in your desktop browser and confirm transactions through the MetaMask mobile application.

Internal browser — iOS and Android

NOTE DOWN:

The best way to connect the MetaMask app to Genius Assets on your mobile phone is by using the MetaMask app’s internal browser.

STEP 1:

Open the MetaMask app on your mobile phone;
Click on the ‘menu’ button in the upper left corner;
Select ‘browser’;

Click on the header and type genius-assets.com in the URL field;
On genius-assets.com, Login and choose ‘connect wallet’, accept the Terms of Service and select the first connection option — ‘MetaMask’.

You can now use the MetaMask internal browser for interaction with Genius Assets.

WalletConnect

To connect the Metamask app on your mobile phone to a browser on your desktop, use the ‘WalletConnect’ option.

In a desktop browser, go to genius-assets.com and Login;
Click on ‘connect wallet’, accept the Terms of Service and select ‘WalletConnect’. A QR code will be displayed on the screen;
on your mobile phone, open the MetaMask app;
Click on the “menu” button in the upper left corner;
select “wallet”;
in the upper right corner, click on the ‘QR-code scanner’ icon and point the phone’s camera to the QR code on the screen;
confirm connection on your phone.

Interact with Genius Assets in your desktop browser and confirm transactions from your phone.

How to disconnect Metamask

First, click your address in the upper right corner of the page.

Then, click “disconnect”.

How to switch accounts:

Using Browser Extension:

First, disconnect the wallet from the Genius Assets, using the instructions above. Then open the Metamask extension and click the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the window.

Then, click the trash can icon next to “genius-assets.com”.

Next, switch to the account that you would like to connect to, by clicking on the logo in the upper right corner of the main Metamask window, and selecting the account.

Lastly, head back to the genius-assets.com, Login, refresh the page, and reconnect using the instructions from the previous article.

Using the Metamask internal browser on iOS or Android

To switch accounts, click your connected address at the bottom of the screen, then click “Disconnect”.

Then, on the main Metamask page, select the account you want to use and reconnect to genius-assets with the instructions from the previous article.

How to import IUX token into your Metamask Wallet

Mobile:

Open the Metamask app on your mobile. Make sure you have the Polygon Network set.

ATTENTION: When you connect your Wallet, in Genius Assets platform, to the same thing as in STEP 1, but go to genius-assets.com and LOGIN*
*If you are using the desktop version, just have your Metamask extension installed in Google Chrome.

1.Press on Import Tokens.

2. Copy the IUX Smart Contract address: 0x346404079b3792a6c548b072b9c4dddfb92948d5 to Token Address

3. Press IMPORT

You are NOW done with importing your IUX Tokens in Metamask.

How to swap/exchange IUX using Quickswap?

STEP 1. Head to quickswap.exchange in your desktop or mobile browser.

STEP 2. Connect your wallet. You’ll need to use either a desktop browser extension wallet or a mobile wallet app. MetaMask and #TrustWallet are both suitable options. Your wallet should also support the Polygon Network (check here how to add Polygon to MetaMask)

❗STEP 3. Make sure you’re on the [Swap] tab to start exchanging tokens and make sure you have $MATIC coin for the gas fees!

STEP 4. Select the token you’d like to swap from and the token you’d like to receive. In this example, we’re swapping $USDC for $IUX (check down, after STEP 6, how to withdraw USDC from a CEX -> Centralised Exchange 👇).

STEP 5. Click [Swap].
